Yesterday was a day from hell. My day is planned with meeting after meeting, getting prices on new equipment and trying to get some boxes reimaged. Before lunch, my boss walks in and says ‘I want you to look at something. I think you’re going to be upset with me.’ Big virus warning up on his monitor. I figure, no biggie…its just the notice that the anti-virus software caught it. Nope. I’m not that lucky. Sure, the software sees it, but it just laughs and laughs - hahahahahaha! Watcha gonna do about that?

So, my boss’ laptop won’t boot. He hasn’t done a backup in 3 weeks. I’m a nervous wreck. Because - even though it wasn’t my idea to try to install some weird download on the box, if something goes wrong with anything that requires being plugged in, its ALWAYS the IT person’s fault. Just peachy.

I was so panicked I was actually ill. It wasn’t a good day. After lots of prayin, sweatin’ and cursin, I managed to get the box to boot - errors all over the place, but working enough so that I can get the data off the box - THANK GOODNESS. I felt a little better by the time I got off work, but it was still crazy.

I should be packing right now. I know, I know. I’m still not done. I’m such a slacker. But the old owners of the house don’t have all their stuff out, and I don’t have to be out until next weekend, so I’m not in too much of a hurry.

I drove out to the island today. Cops are everywhere giving tickets for no seat belts. So, remember kids - buckle up!

I guess I’ll go change around my laundry. What a great way to spend a holiday weekend.
