Relaxing Evening

by @ 2:49 pm on June 25, 2004. Filed under Life

I had a good night last night.

As I left work, I made some phone calls to start planning my trip.  I spent a couple of hours laughing with friends (I love 3-way calling!).  I really needed to spend the evening cleaning up a database and rebuilding a laptop, but I was dreading it.  As I was working on it, my roommate (who is also my ex gf) called and asked if I wanted to grill out ribs with her and her gf.  It sounded like a good evening, so I agreed.  Then she asked me to make my jalapeno/shrimp/bacon thingies (dontcha love that techie term?).  Those things are awesome, but cleaning the jalapenos is worse than dealing with onions!

After dinner we decided we would walk the puppies down to the bay.  It is about 4 blocks away.  So, we grab leashes and headed out.  I wish I had some pictures so you could truly appreciate this sight:  11p at night, 3 women, 4 puppies all under 6 months (6 month old border collie, 5 month old red bone hound dog, 10 week old pit bull (Corbin) and the mastiff puppy is 6 weeks) and a 5-month-old kitten.  We didn’t intend for the kitten to come and finally managed to chase him back to the house.  The puppies all had a blast and slept very well last night!  We took a different street home and one of the houses has bushes shaped like giraffes!  I’m going to go back this weekend to take pictures of them because I am silly like that.

Nothing fancy, I know.  But, right now low maintenance is good for me.  Hope your night was equally peaceful.

sounds like you had a wonderful evening. i love takin my Logan (my dog) to this park that i found. its all fenced in and no one really goes there, its kinda hidden. so i unleash him and let him run like a madman. lol. he loves it. it tires him out, but he sleeps well. =)

  2. If you ask nicely, I might teach you how to make them ;)
I wish I could find a park like that! There are parks a long most of the bay but they are not fenced in. So, if you want to turn your dog loose, you have to wait until late at night to go - and try to be sneaky :D
