A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
Thanks everyone for all the warm thoughts! It must have worked - According the the guys I interviewed with, I was a smashing success! It’s a really awesome company - same-sex partner benefits, and all that loveliness…
As I was going into the interview on Friday, a guy called to schedule me for a phone interview for another company. He asked when I would be in town, and I told him I was in Dallas now. Sooo, they scheduled an interview for Monday morning. This company is smaller, so it prolly doesn’t have the same-sex benefits, but it’s about $10k a year more money. I guess I will worry about that bridge if and when I get to it.
On to better things!
I went out to celebrate last night. I drank waaaaaay too much. Sheesh, the women were out in full force! I decided it was time to go when this couple was trying to each make the other one jealous by dancing with me. That, and that last shot kicked my ass. Southern Pucker sure tastes good, but woo! I’m a light weight.
I left with a pocket full of numbers. Now, the fun part is to see if I can remember which number goes with which face :p

It sounds like you have a lot more fun on your job interviews than I do
I am sure you will do fine and any company would be smart to have you working for them. And I am glad you are taking into account the benefits along with jus tthe salary.
We really do need to hang out.

my face is the slightly hairy one..just so you don’t get confused.
I wish I could have joined you out last night.. instead, here I am, locked away in a FREEEZING COLD office, picking my nose, just waiting in case testing finds something. *grumble*
guess I’ll get some sleep tonight or something. p’raps we can meet up on Sunday for lunch or something, eh?
Glad to hear it went well, and best of luck on the other ones!!
I’m curious to hear the physical locations of where you may be working. I’m in Las Colinas, for what it’s worth

Yay! Sounds like you had an awesome time all around! *hug* I’m so happy for you.

Great! Good interviews always buck ya one way or t’other.
However, my curiosity is peaked. What’s Southern Pucker?
Was drinking light and dancing heavily myself, last night. :p ‘Strawberry Fields’ (strawberry stoli, sweet & sour, in martini glass..I think. Pretty sure about the martini glass. :p )

I guess this is your sign. I wish you the best of luck. A little jealous wishing I was in Dallas myself. Southern Pucker is some potent shit. Too much has touched my taste buds. LOL Have fun.

So you can snap the face and record the number of the person who’s scrollwheel you’ll get to know very well. (american Pie reference there)
Mucho glad you got good results babe. And kudos on finding a company that has same sex bene’s.
Chumas, throw me a number or too? :p

Southern Pucker = Southern Comfort and Apple Pucker. I like it best chilled, with salt on the rim. Tasty!
Oh, I danced plenty. But, I wasn’t planning on it and wore flip flops. It’s a dangerous thing to dance in flip flops, but I braved the wilds. Thank goodness, my toes are still intact.

I’ve always been told I interviewed well, but I really think I did a good job that time. It seems like as I get older, I am more comfortable smiling and actually enjoying the interview. Ya know what I mean?
You’ve got enough vacation time! Once I get my place, you’ll have to come to Texas - tell ole Bill you need some Amy time and we’ll let our ‘Freak Flags’ fly
Once I get my place, you know you can always crash on my couch!

Sorry you couldn’t make it out - It was a good time! I will be at Best Friend’s tonight, but I am sure that is a long drive for you. Do you like country music?
I have a few softball games to be to on Sunday afternoon off of Mockingbird, so I could meet you for lunch before that prolly. Just give me a call.
The job I interviewed for on Friday is in Coppell and the one on Monday is in Plano.

*huge smile* Thanks! You can always come play too
Hell, let’s just have a party!
I really am excited about this. I can hardly contain myself.

I guess if my soul mate can handle meeting me when I am partying that hard and celebrating, then she can prolly put up with me through anything
Come on down! Ya know ya wanna. I think I might have to invest in some more couches though. LOL
Debra was signing on the patio last night. I hung out there for awhile then went across the street to Round Up. Had to get in some boot-scootin

You know, I never thought of using my camera phone for that. That is a great idea! But, I don’t take my phone in the bar with me. My pants are too tight - I wouldn’t have anywhere to put it. Hmm…things to ponder.
They wouldn’t be interested….well, except for maybe JD, the gay guy *teasing*
Comment by jaxia — July 17, 2004 @ 11:10 am
But they DO make nice little carabiners and leatherette carry cases for cell phones that look quite stylish. Seen some at old Navy while I was looking for a couple new ties.
Black leather with white accent in the form of hello kitty, others a glaring ‘fuck-me-pumps’ red. lol
Ideas for your mind, jaxia.

I almost bought some red fuck me pumps today, but decided against it. I can hardly walk in heels, much less dance. But, they looked hot with this outfit I was trying on.
Carrying a purse into a bar is a big NO in my book. I don’t care how girly you are - AT MOST, you need ID, cash/credit card and lipstick. Eh, I guess I am not a typical girl though.
The leatherette carry case would go well with my leather pants though…

Yeah, I’d love to meet some of the nesters. Unfortunately, none of you are anywhere near me. And I like y’all too much to ask you to come to Jersey.
Comment by kemidra — July 17, 2004 @ 4:52 pm
lol they’re not purses.
They clip to your belt or to a belt loop and dangle there looking hot and spiffy. ^_^
Btw… post pic of said leather pants? *grin*
Comment by chumas — July 17, 2004 @ 10:45 pm
Er, problem is phones clipped to your belt tend to .. ah .. fall off. *snap-sproing-clatter*
That is, if you .. ahem .. dance in bars like I do. :p It’s a good thing Elvis didn’t have to deal with cell phones.
Dunno a good solution to this.

Southern Pucker = gooood.
I don’t care for the hard stuff- but if it is a pretty color & tastes like Kool-aid I’ll drink it.
I like Midori Sours myself.
And who wears flip flops to a bar? That’s crazy. CRAZY!
Hope things are going you way -job/interview wise btw.
Comment by filterfactor — July 18, 2004 @ 2:31 pm
Ah, a woman after my own heart…Midori Sours used to be my drink of choice. But it’s easier to drink some in a bottle because it always tastes the same, ya know? Lately I’m stuck on Twisted Apple thingys.
We were just going to hang out on the patio, but we went across the street and went dancing. Hence, the flip flops….

I can’t have anything hanging off of my waist. I follow. I have lots of hands keeping up with my waist during a night. For example, the shirt I wore out Saturday night tied in the back - and it came untied several times while I was dancing. Cute shirt, but it was a pain.
As for the leather pants…well, lemme think about it
I do have some pictures from the trip though that I will post later.
