A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
Sorry for the delay, I was out of town this weekend. More on that later…
In the mean time…
1. How do you handle being hit on by men? What do you say or do in response?
It depends on how they hit on me (meaning are they tacky and gross, or sweet and sincere). If they fall into the first category, I prolly handle it like any woman would, and I knee them in the groin!
If they are sweet and sincere, then I’ll usually tell them No thanks. If they have a nice enough smile, and are gracious about the no, I will still dance with them. Could be just because I am a dance whore
It’s easier to dance with guys because me being 5’8”, it is hard to find a woman tall enough to spin me. I will rarely tell a guy *why* I am telling him no – In my experience, they tend to just want sex tips from a lesbian when they find out.
2. What’s your favorite version of the Arthurian Legend?
I doubt this is a shocker: The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I like the different spin she put on things, the way she made me reevaluate the story. It was interesting to learn about motives, and to see things through the eyes of the women. I first read it when I was 10. It is one of those books that I reread at least once a year, if not more often.
3. How did you learn your favorite dance?
A good memory – standing on my dad’s toes when I was 7 years old, 2 stepping in the living room. An ex taught me how to double two, and a guy friend taught me how to shadow waltz. Pretty much, if I see someone who dances well, I will walk up to them and ask them to teach me. That’s how I learned most if it. I’m fairly good at sweet talking
4. Favorite quote from Princess Bride? (This should be hard as there’s about a jillion of them. :p )
Oh damn. That is a challenge. If I really only get to pick one, it’s prolly this one:
Wesley: Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
It’s not the one I quote most often, but it is the one that means the most to me.
5. Your most risque item of leather apparel?
*raised eyebrows* Uhm. I have two leather harnesses. One that looks kinda like this one
And another one that goes on a different part of my body that you’ll just have to use your imagination for :p

Ah..does that count as apparel?
Hm. I guess it does.
Sorry! It was one of those ‘hey, let’s throw this in there and see who salutes it’ questions.
Whacky. Yeah, that’s it. Really!

(are you on any messenger system? drop me an email)

I wear it, so I suppose it counts as apparel! Admittedly, I wear it underneath my clothes. I love to see the look on a woman’s face when she reaches up to touch my back and finds it. *evil grin*
Uhm, but I don’t wear it often. Yeah. I’m a good girl. *innocent smile*

I had mine custom made by a friend of mine who is into all that kinda stuff. I had a hard time finding one that one fit me right off the store shelf. They were all too big, so they didn’t hang right.
I think it’s fun to play dress up sometimes
I thought I had it set up so that friends could see my IM name on my LJ info page, but I could be wrong.
Yeppers, I will send you an email. Look for it
/counting down the days to DFW
Everyone wants to throw me a going away party, so I will prolly head to DFW on Saturday morning. I am supposed to be at a softball tourny on Sat and Sun, but I prolly won’t stay all day. After that, I have the next two weeks off. I’m going to Houston for part of it, but you better at least have lunch with me one day
Comment by jaxia — August 2, 2004 @ 6:20 am
lunch? oh, I’m sure that can be arranged.. andmaybe some night time fun, too.. (no, not THAT kind).. we could be leather twinkies, hrmm.. look out, sue’s, here we come
yeah, your name is there.. now?… I swear it hasn’t been in the past. but, of course, you’re not on, so fatlottagood that does (or you have unknowns disabled)
Comment by spycedtx — August 2, 2004 @ 6:47 am
Last time I wore my leather out to Sue’s, I got in all kinds of trouble
I will be in DFW the weekend of the 20th, but I’ll prolly be in Houston the weekend before. Where do you normally hang out? If I go out in Dallas, I usually start a Sue’s and finish at Round Up. Showtunes at Moby’s used to be a good time, but I don’t even know if they still do that.
I had it disabled, but recently turned it on. And yeah, I don’t allow unknowns. I sent you my Yahoo and AIM accounts. I have MSN and ICQ too (as any good geek does!).

Frankly, I’m shocked! Shocked, I say! That men would ask you about sex tips if they found out you were lesbian.
That would be..eh..oh, so impolite. Do men really behave that way?

It happens so often, a bet is almost sure money on it.
Of course, if I am really sloshed, I try to help em out. Bitchy women, straight or lesbian, make my life hell. So, whatever I can do to make the world a better place
Comment by jaxia — August 2, 2004 @ 8:25 am
Geebus. Am I in the wrong gender? There must be an instruction manual I didn’t get.

It’s probably easier for men to talk to lesbians about sex. There’s no risk of ruining her interest in you, because, through no fault of your own, she never had any in the first place. Must be a lot less pressure.

It’s not about getting the instruction manual…it’s just about “getting it.”

Maybe I should write a book…The lesbians guide to sex for straight men
Comment by jaxia — August 10, 2004 @ 3:53 am
Good point, Dahne. I hadn’t really thought of it like that. Also, I think that mostly, men just want to hear women talk about sex.
