Scary Things

So, on the way into work this morning, I was writing my journal entry in my head. It was talking about how much last night and this morning just sucked. I had to change clothes 3 times this morning. From head to toe. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to. I’ll spare you the gory details about why, but let me just say – all clothes are now in the washer and I hope they are not ruined.

I have a doctor appointment on Friday afternoon. As a few of you know, I’ve been having this problem with losing vision in my right eye. It comes and goes. I keep trying to blame it on stress, but it’s really starting to worry me. I almost wrecked because I couldn’t see and that freaked me out so I finally broke down and made an appt. SA is going to take me. Heh, gotta love Leo’s. I told her what was going on and she said “I’m going with you. Where do you want me to meet you?” How can I argue with that?

But, as I was standing in my regular gas station this morning making my cappuccino, a couple of interesting things happened to me.
1. I had a really good conversation with someone very dear to me. She always makes me laugh.
2. I realized it was almost time for Pumpkin Spice cappuccino – THE BEST cappuccino in the world - to come out again. It’s a seasonal thing and it breaks my heart every year when they stop making it. Maybe I will see if they will sell me a bag! Yay!
3. As I am making aforementioned cappuccino, this lady making herself some coffee says “Good Morning” to me. I smile and return the greeting. I see her in there fairly often – she must work nearby. Anyway, she then proceeds to say, “I don’t know if you’d ever be interested” as she hands me a piece of paper, “in getting together for coffee somewhere other than the gas station.” We laugh and I smile. She walks me out to my car and then gets in her car and drives away. I don’t know if I’ll call her, but she obviously had it plotted out because she already had her number written down.

And, to top it all off, on the radio this morning, one of the girls is getting to know this hardcore Christian guy. They were making fun of them and Kelly Raspberry says her dad used to say this to her:

“If you walked into that bar and Jesus was standing there, what would you say to him?”

Haha! I love that show. Personally, I’d say “Crown and Coke or 7 & 7?”

Man, I loved this episode. When Donna is in Amy’s chambers with the letter, and reads it, and Amy jumps up and screams – that seemed so genuine to me! When she tells her “You have the yellow brick road in front of you, but you won’t leave munchkin land.” Awesome quote! And lemme tell ya, I feel for Peter. What do you do when this woman that you still love but have some unresolved issues with and think just isn’t right for you does something sweet and understanding and takes you by surprise? It’s hard to keep telling yourself how wrong she is for you when she is being nice right now.

When Kyle is saying that he won’t have anything to do with the kid, and Maxine starts listening – I get goose bumps there. I just *know* something is about to happen. When she went off on him, “Don’t you abandon him! I deal with lost kids every day and I won’t find him for you!” Yep, I’ll admit it – the tears were there.

The only part to the whole episode that really seemed contrived to me - the scenes with Amy and David. Normally, I really like them together – but eh, they just weren’t doing it for me this time. But, I was feeling Amy’s pain with him being away because he needed to take care of something. When she is excited that he is back, and he holds her and tells her “We can be together in a year…” the look on her face…broke my heart. Great acting.

For the last week, my phone’s been ringing in the wee hours of the morning from “unknown” numbers. I answer, but nothing is there. So, during lunch today or tomorrow, I will be changing my number. I guess it’s about time I get a local number anyway.

In light of recent events, I will be playing around with friends filters. Right now, if you are my friend, you can see everything I’ve posted. Since my little brother has created an LJ and I shocked ’s sensibilities, I’m going to create a filter for the more risqué pictures and entries. By default, everyone’s going to be included, so if you don’t want in, let me know.

is my poetry journal. I put my personal poetry to friends only. If you are interested in seeing it, let me know and I will friend you.

Is It Friday Yet?

After dinner last night, KA, DC and I were sitting around talking. KA kept trying to get me to have some wine. She says I don’t ever want to drink with her. For some reason, getting drunk the first time I come over and passing out in the spare room doesn’t count. Heh. I gave in to the peer pressure and had a glass of wine. Somehow, we start playing the “If…” book. I think KA was cheating, because she kept asking all these questions about sex. “If you could be amazing in bed at one thing, what would it be?” “How would you rate your current love life?” Don’t play “If” with a couple – the answers are too predictable! *insert sappy “awww” here*

I went to sleep around 4a. I woke up at 6a with 3 missed calls. None of them were from her. I really must start sleeping more. I’m feeling rather melancholy today. Sorry, no lightness in this entry. I feel like posting bits from bad poetry and good blues songs…but I’ll spare you.

Oh, I tried Mountain Dew Pitch Black this morning. It doesn’t trip my trigger. Kinda tastes like someone poured Dimetapp in my Coke.

Judging Amy season premiere is on tonight. At least I have something to look forward to today.

Long Weekend

by @ 4:21 pm on September 26, 2004. Filed under Entertainment | Life | Movies

Sheesh, it’s been a long weekend and it’s barely noon on Sunday.

Friday night I went to MW’s for a pool party/steak cook out. I’m such a puss - the water was way too friggin cold! *brrr* I tried to hang, but I couldn’t for very long. We watched SWAT, which has ’s Michelle Rodriguez in it. Yummy!

I went out last night. It was a fairly tame evening, all in all. MW made me do Royal Fuck’s but I was up for the challenge. Some teeny bopper girl was trying to hit on me, but her gf got jealous and stormed out of the bar. It was pretty funny. SA and I were trying to take a picture together, and my top kept coming unbuttoned. Gah! So I have like 5 pictures in different poses with my shirt gaping open. Argh. I have some other pictures to post, but they will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow. I’ve got to get in the shower and head over to MW’s house. We are going to ride dirt bikes. Maybe I can get some pictures of me being a biker bitch. I did just find all of my leather pants in a box outside…Naaa, that’s a different kind of day.

I really want to take the class that the Honda dealership offers to learn how to ride. I think with as many miles as I have spent on the back of a bike, I should prolly know how to control it on my own. Just in case, ya know?

I weighed myself yesterday. Scary thought. I am tied for my heaviest ever. *sigh* I’ve been trying for awhile now to gain weight, but I seem to be gaining all of it in my belly…which pisses me off when I try to put on my tight jeans. I guess I need to start doing some situps or something. Heaven forbid I put down the brownies and Dr Pepper that I am having for a snack, or the buttered honey bun I had with my chunked/peppered/covered hashbrowns this morning. The best part about it is I can save money now because I can quit buying “fat shakes.” (350 calorie Ensure, for those not “in the know”) Maybe my metabolism is changing, or maybe my tape worm finally died. Ha!

Did anyone have an exciting weekend?

Now The Ghosts Are Flesh And Blood!

by @ 1:35 pm on September 24, 2004. Filed under Food | Life

Oh!
I almost forgot!

Yesterday, I went to Einstien Bros Bagels for lunch. I hadn’t been there awhile, so I didn’t know what I wanted. I saw this sandwich “Cobbie on Challah.” The lady behind the counter said it was like a croissant. I love croissants, so I said I’d try it. It was a far cry from a croissant, but it wasn’t bad. But, the whole experience was kinda like taking a drink of iced tea just to find out it was watered down Coke.

Anyway, I was sitting there, eating my food and working on this new poem…I hear this woman’s voice say my name. I look up, and I see a face that looks vaguely familiar, but I cannot quite place it. I guess I have that ‘deer in headlights’ look, because she starts laughing at me, and says “It’s Jennifer! Don’t you remember me? We worked together at XXXX”

My mouth hits the floor. Wow - that girl has changed! She is a knockout! She sits down and we talk for a bit. Turns out, she came out and had always had a huge crush on me (damn, I coulda had another point toward my 7th toaster!).

She has to go, so we swap numbers. She wants to have dinner this weekend so I can meet her gf, who used to date a friend of mine. *hums “It’s a small world”*

Lemme tell ya, I’ll be glad when I am not attending this training class in Las Colinas any more. Too many old memories around here, and now the ghosts are flesh and blood!

Sorry, Mom

by @ 12:37 pm on . Filed under Family | Life | Television

*loud*
“Hudson, get your butt outta bed, RIGHT NOW!”

I mumble, “Sorry, mom” before I’m fully awake. And then I realize, my name is not Hudson and I am still 26 years old. My bedroom is right next to the 5 year old’s room and D had been trying to get him up for the last 30 minutes - not me. Ha!

None-the less, it was 7:02a and I am supposed to leave at 7a. Egads! I had managed to snooze my way through 3 alarms and 3 missed calls. Thank god I take my showers at night; I managed to get out of the house by 7:10a. Go me! Sichy, I’m praying that this Mountain Dew LiveWire will get me through the day! I think I’m hooked, you evil woman!

Do any of you eat Grandma’s cookies? You know, the soft yummy cookies that come in a package of 2 in the gas stations for 50 cents? The peanut butter ones are to die for, and the fudge chocolate chips ones are heaven, too. Personally, I think soft cookies are much better than crunchy ones.

Today is the last day of training - *party* I won’t have as much free time on my hands anymore, so you won’t have to deal with as many pointless posts ;)

Joan of Arcadia comes on tonight. Yes! I’m so excited to see what they do with this plot.

Oh crap! I just realized I’ve told 3 different people I’d have dinner with them tonight. Crud. What do I do now? *sigh*

Oh well. After dinner I will probably go out dancing. I’m just not sure if I want to go out with my friends in Dallas or with my friends who are going to be in FTW. Hmm. Maybe I can just convince the ladies going to Dallas to come out to Fort Worth instead - then I’d have more people to dance with. And that, my dear, is always a good thing! But then again, the pool party/BBQ/sleep-over sounds like a good time too.

Ah, the life. Can you tell I’m loving being back in Dallas? *smiling*

I, my friend, have class. I am so not white trash. . I am more than likely Democrat, and my place is neat, and there is a good chance I may never drink wine from a box.

Paid Account

Man, LJ is so slow for me sometimes. They say getting a paid account will speed things up. Has anyone noticed if this is true or not? Can you tell? I’m not really interested in any of the other features, so if it doesn’t speed the loading, then it’s not really worth it, ya know?

Why are people so dumb?

You’re supposed to be with LANA, *NOT* Lois.
LANA. Got it?

/sigh

Am I the only one who didn’t care for Lois’ char? Or is it just because I want him with Lana that I disliked her?
