Auto insurance can bite my ass. Are these people on crack? Geico wants over $200/mo to cover me. Madness, I tell you. Granted, I need full coverage and just got a speeding ticket, but I only have ONE on my record. My driving record is otherwise perfect. Jerks. They may as well bend me over and have their way. I didn’t even get a reach around.
Yet, I am in a really fantabulous mood today. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the weather is perfect. I wish I could be sprawled out on blanket under a tree, reading a book with her head in my lap. Alas, maybe this weekend.
I’m exhausted. I haven’t slept much in the last few weeks. I can’t seem to turn off my brain. Last night, I spent more time on the phone that I intended, but it was worth it. I’m reading a new book. The Nameless Day by Sara Douglass. It places a fictional character in historical 1300s and she “brilliantly blended detailed research with religion and magic to reinterpret actual historical events, here the shift from extreme spiritualism to humanism that began in 14th-century Europe.” Anyone read it, or anything else by her? I wanted Wayfarer Redemption, but they didn’t have it.
I’ve already had a couple of people at work talk to me about possible job opportunities within the company. The company policy is I have to wait for 6 months before I can move on. Yesterday, I was informed of an opening, and told that my company is willing to waive the waiting period for certain promotions. My supervisor thinks it’s too soon, but it was still a good feeling that my skills were recognized.

Geico had also ran roughshod over me before as well. But they are doing ok for me now with full coverage, and I am a boy!! You know how they hate us
Have you tried calling Progressive and get one of their comparison shopping quotes and quotes from their competitors?
Glad to see you are in a good mood, but I know what you mean about these time limits before promotions. Seems like I hear about all the great jobs when I can’t move

I want to know who these people are that save money by switching to Geico. I got quoted 2k every six months from them on a *Corolla*.

I have a perfect driving record too. Not even a parking ticket. I just have iffy credit. Ok, I have one really bad thing on my credit, everything else is fine, but I’m off on a tangent now…
I ended up going with Farmers. They’re cheap.

I called all of them, I think. I am going with Farmers. The amount is also going up a lot because I moved from podunk Corpus to DFW.

Geico was the worst of all my quotes. Even when I had my pristine record, they were still giving me crazy awful prices. I had the best luck in the past with Prudential and All State, with a clean driving record and fair to middlin credit.
And yeah, I am going with Farmer’s too. I wind up getting life insurance tossed in for the same price everyone else wants just for car insurance. Now, just to decide WHO to put as my beneficiary…

I would encourage you to pick that phone right up, call Geico and say, “You people can bite my ass.” Let them digest that for a minute, then follow up with a second sentence: “And *WHOSE* ass will you bite?” and listen for their response, which should be something like: “Yours, Miss! Yours! We’ll get right on it.” To which you should reply, “Good.”
They’re used to it! Really!

State Farm tried to bail out of Jersey a while ago but got in trouble with the state.
They just got GEICO here, too.
Luckily I’m a state employee so I can get NJM insurance which is really the cheapest in the state, just restricted to people who haven’t had tickets in 3 years.
There’s lots of places worse than Texas.

That icon reminds me of the movie “Devil in a blue dress” with Denzel Washington. She says “You’re hittin my button, you’re hittin my button.” The screen fades to black and he says “and I kept on hitting her button all night long”
What happens if you hadn’t had a ticket in 3 years and then get one? Do they boot you off? I’m 26 and this was the first ticket to go on my record.

Actually, NJM doesn’t boot you or even raise your rates.
Everyone else in the state does, though.
