A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
Man, LJ is so slow for me sometimes. They say getting a paid account will speed things up. Has anyone noticed if this is true or not? Can you tell? I’m not really interested in any of the other features, so if it doesn’t speed the loading, then it’s not really worth it, ya know?

I have a paid account. I’ve also been a free user. I’m not sure if you get different service, but if you get a paid account (it’s pretty cheap), it allows them to have more servers and such.
So, maybe so?

I read on the paid accounts community that there’s new code in place that let’s all paid members to the front of the line in any server calls. So you have to wait until the paid members are all being taken care of before your request is accepted.
Kinda like those line jumping passes they have at theme parks!

It does NOT speed the loading. A lot of times LJ is just slow because one of the hamsters running their server flops over dead. It’s really slow for me right now too… also caused me to double post twice today because after the first post I’d get “unable to connect to server; try again.” I’d do it again and suddenly I’ve got 2 posts up.
Mine is a paid account. So don’t bother.

well, it’s now true that paid users get faster access. they did add in code that lets us “jump in line.”
So, take that as you may.

yea i think its true, im a paid user and and my girl is not. it seemed much faster for me one night when i was on my account and then when she signed on her account after me it was so damn slow, i was like how can it be quicker for me but when she signed on it was slow as hell. guess thats why.

Ah, cool, that is what I was hoping to find - someone who could compare. Maybe I’ll just get it for 2 months and try it out.

I noticed your double posts
After I get an error, I always go check and refresh my page, just to make sure it didn’t post - most times it really did.
I’ve been thinking that I might just try the 2 mos paid and see how I like it. It’s a fairly cheap test.
