A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
After dinner last night, KA, DC and I were sitting around talking. KA kept trying to get me to have some wine. She says I don’t ever want to drink with her. For some reason, getting drunk the first time I come over and passing out in the spare room doesn’t count. Heh. I gave in to the peer pressure and had a glass of wine. Somehow, we start playing the “If…” book. I think KA was cheating, because she kept asking all these questions about sex. “If you could be amazing in bed at one thing, what would it be?” “How would you rate your current love life?” Don’t play “If” with a couple – the answers are too predictable! *insert sappy “awww” here*
I went to sleep around 4a. I woke up at 6a with 3 missed calls. None of them were from her. I really must start sleeping more. I’m feeling rather melancholy today. Sorry, no lightness in this entry. I feel like posting bits from bad poetry and good blues songs…but I’ll spare you.
Oh, I tried Mountain Dew Pitch Black this morning. It doesn’t trip my trigger. Kinda tastes like someone poured Dimetapp in my Coke.
Judging Amy season premiere is on tonight. At least I have something to look forward to today.

Yeah, the Pitch Black tastes grape’ish to me!
I actually didn’t mind it all that bad when I had it the first few times, but I had it yesterday and I didn’t care for it.
I can’t live without TeVo!

i havent tried the pitch black yet..to be honest, i really havent had any desire too. *shrugs*

Mountain Dew Pitch Black; agreed! They’ll market ANYTHING.
*sigh* Friday.
I’ve got a bottle of champagne in my fridge that was left here by a friend who came to visit. It’s been calling to me the last couple of nights, but I’ve been wanting to save it for the next movie/board game night. *sigh* I wish we had drank it Friday night, but it got late and everyone had to go home. 7pm till 3am isn’t too bad for my first house party. such lovely guests.
My neighbor keeps staying up late with his garage door open. He bought himself a pool table but I’ve never managed to go over and shoot some games with him. I grew up having my father’s table in the house and became quite good while I was young. It has been so many years since I’ve played the game regularly. I should walk over there sometime with a six pack. I need to get back into practice somehow.
Ok… it’s 10:22 am, but I’m already buzzed and really getting my trigger tripped by Robert Palmer crooning “I Need Your Love So Bad” on his last album, “Drive”. His death makes me sad - I love the blues… and it’s never too early for it.

Aww, don’t be sad.

I’d like to check out some of your poetry.

I’d like to know what you think.

Life is just a bowel of cherries. Or bowl of cherries. *cough*
Eh? Pitch Black was the name of a bad sci-fi movie. Does it taste like aliens?

This girl I was “spending time with” has TiVo. I WANT IT. At least she and I have the same taste in TV, so she TiVo’s the things I want to watch without me having to ask
Comment by jaxia — September 28, 2004 @ 5:39 am
It’s not worth it, IMO. The place I stopped at this morning didn’t carry LiveWire though. Damn them!
Comment by jaxia — September 28, 2004 @ 5:40 am
I’d save it - it’ll make a nice touch
What kind of board games? Oh wow - you mentioned Robert Palmer. *sigh*
Oh, BTW - in answer to your other comment, yes, I am in DFW.
Comment by jaxia — September 28, 2004 @ 5:42 am
Sure thing
*waiting*

The sad part is, the first time I read your line about the cherries, I missed the extra letter.
I liked Pitch Black. But then, I like Vin Diesel. His eyes were so cool in that movie! *shrugs*

I’m not familiar. I’ll have to bring in an expert.
I’m still waiting for a reply to my other comment, mister!

Here is a good Tuesday blues song.
They call it stormy monday, yes but tuesday’s just as bad.
They call it stormy monday, yes but tuesday’s just as bad.
Wednesday’s even worse; thursday’s awful sad.
The eagle flies on friday, saturday I go out to play.
The eagle flies on friday, but saturday I go out to play.
Sunday I go to church where I kneel down and pray.
And I say, “lord have mercy, lord have mercy on me.
Lord have mercy, lord have mercy on me.
Just trying to find my baby, won’t you please send her on back to me.”
The eagle flies on friday, on saturday I go out to play.

Sunday I go to church, where I kneel down, lord and I pray.
Then I say, “lord have mercy, won’t you please have mercy on me.
Lord, oh lord have mercy, yeah, won’t you please, please have mercy on me.
I’m just a-lookin’ for my sweet baby, so won’t you please send her home,
Send her on home to me.”
They got you to drink wine. Lucky I tell you… LUCKY. You know, I still have a bottle of wine that we have yet to drink, missy.
I can’t wait for Amy tonight. I hope it is good. Should be the way they left it last season.
You got to talk to me today…so you already had one great, stupendous thing happen to you today.

I typically go to bed at 4am most nights, lol I’m an insomniac. Tivo rocks, I have it…but on the downside it makes me watch too much TV, lol.
Comment by mister_fister — September 28, 2004 @ 9:15 am
4a? But what time do you get up?
Yeah, but I spend too much time in front of the computer. So, it’s either LJ/IM and the PC or TiVo and my shows
I could use some mind-numbing entertainment!
Comment by jaxia — September 28, 2004 @ 9:48 am
Wow. I need to get that song.
Yeah, everyone is moving back to the mom’s house.
Bah. You just made me think. Now my brain hurts.
Comment by jaxia — September 28, 2004 @ 9:50 am
It is an old T-Bone Walker song. It pretty much sums up my life every time when I am down and out.
My best version is by the Allman Brothers… my ALL TIME favorite song EVER. You have heard it before.
There is of course all other remakes by the best like Clapton, King, etc.
The wheels are squeaky I know…but what are you thinking about?
Comment by darkeyesdreamin — September 28, 2004 @ 10:15 am
I get up at like 1pm lol…yay!! I’m always on messengers..I heart them.

I used to be on all the time since I could at my old job, but I cannot at my new job. So, when I get home, the time I spend online is usually spent replying to emails and such that I cannot put the proper amount of thought into while I am on my break at work.
Well, if I could pick, I’d sleep those kinds of hours.

Am I the ony who wonders what wine it was ? (”red” or “white” aren’t acceptable answers)
I had to come to the UK to hear “which wine do you prefer ? red or white ?”

Thank you. I shall save it for when I get to meet him again. Most of the board games I own include various flavors of Monopoly, Rollercoaster Tycoon (yup, board game), Yahtzee!, Cranium and a deck of Uno cards. I’m not too good at regular card games except for “21″.
Robert Palmer was a greatly underappreciated performer.
I’ve only ever visited Six Flags in Arlington. DFW is this huge mysterious place to me!

I have one thing to say about the film “Pitch Black”:
Cole Hauser is awesome as William J. Johns!
Comment by jayson_kyne — September 28, 2004 @ 12:29 pm
I’m having a love affair with Cranium.
DFW is my domain. I’ll take you sightseeing

Did you delete the BB King comment? I came to reply to it, and I can’t find it!
Comment by jaxia — September 30, 2004 @ 2:48 am
Yeah… I deleted the comment… it makes me feel bad to flood someone’s post with too many comments. But I like to hear B.B. King!
Heck - any blues. I highly recommend the PBS film “Red, White and Blues” (disc 6 in a series) directed by Mike Figgis.
Comment by jayson_kyne — September 30, 2004 @ 3:48 am
Too many comments? Is there such a thing? I don’t think so!
Blues is awesome. I will have to check that out.
