What A Weekend

by @ 3:03 pm on October 5, 2004. Filed under Health and Wellness | Life | Movies

My weekend was fairly uneventful. Friday night, I stayed home and tried to hole up in my room. DC was having none of that and so I had dinner with KA, her gf (DC) and their friend, . I had taken a couple of my muscle relaxers and was drinking Vanilla Vodka and Sprite. I was fairly loopy – comedy! After an awesome dinner of chicken spaghetti, we decided to play Cranium. DC was my partner, and we kicked ass! *nudges * When I went to Eckerd’s earlier that evening (which was an exercise in patience) to fill my prescriptions, I picked up the Autumn mix of Candy corns – it has the normal candy corns, the darker ones AND the pumpkin ones! We munched on those and listened to music.

On Saturday, MW drug me out to a movie – We saw Ladder 49 (MW graduated from the fire academy in May). I’ve heard mention that it was a bad movie, but I really liked it. Well, I cried almost the whole way through it, but I blame that on the fact that I’ve just been an emotional basket case lately.

Other than that, I stayed in bed and talked on the phone. Thank God for unlimited night and weekend minutes. I checked my phone plan this morning – I’ve used 2413 anytime minutes this month.

The ex gf called me yesterday. I finally wished her a happy birthday. She asked why I hadn’t called and I told her about going to the doctor. She said, “I always knew there was something wrong with you.” Isn’t that sweet and caring?

Has anyone ever been on a cruise? I have a sudden fascination with cruise ships…

**edit** wants me to take him shopping! I’m in heaven!

  1. I am glad that you have good friends who look out for you and do not allow you to become a phone talking hermit.

Although after the minute report it looks like a fighting battle. Well I know I have taken some of those minutes so I guess I can’t talk to much. ;)
As for the ex…we all know how I feel. I can’t believe that she still has the nerve…BLAH! Just BLAH! BLAH!

No, I have not been on a cruise, but that is what I want my next vacation to be… I want to go soooo bad on one. I have already been doing some research. I will have to do something with my December bonus money.

Does he know he has created a monster? You are one woman who can shop shop shop…

  2. So glad you have a local support group of friends. Everyone needs those. And, the best ones are the ones that know you well enough that they can circumvent your normal shields and do exactly what you need to have done, no matter how much you may protest.

I’ve considered cruises. But, straight cruises would likely leave me feeling uncomfortable. Gay cruises just come across as a huge bathhouse/meatmarket on the water. And, I doubt I’d be horribly welcome on an Olivia cruise. ;)
And, oh god.. I think has just scared me. A monster, eh? Actually, that’s probably a good thing. I can give you an idea what I’m looking for, what I need, etc., and let you run with it. Just as long as you’re good at honestly saying “yes, this DOES look good on you” when it does, and not just because you like the color/pattern and fail to see it meshes with my skin tone. (= I’m not sure our stores, even the outlet, even with the 30% discount, is the best place to look.. but, it’s a place to start. And, dinner is on me. Your choice.

Looooovely :p And she was _surprised_ you hadn’t called her?
Hope the doctor thing went well, by the by.

I haven’t been on a cruise myself, but I had roomates that went on a honeymoon cruise - they really really liked it… Said it was nice to not have to worry about _anything_ for a while.

  9. cruises sound like fun!

I always dreamed of working on a cruise ship…

I went to http://www.carnival.com , but they don’t seem to have the position of Master Butter Artist available. Drag.

they do seem to have some really great deals!

*imagining a Thanksgiving weekend cruise with a butter turkey/Pilgrim display…*

  11. I guess I can’t talk to much The problem is - you DO talk too much :p Especially when you are feeling bouncy ;)
It was pointed out to me that she could have meant it as a joke. Uhm, yeah.

Did I know that about the cruise? You gonna do the Olivia thing?

Shhh! I wasn’t going to tell him! Bwahahahahahahahaha!

  13. You are right. It has taken me awhile, but I do have friends like that. They tend to drag me kicking and screaming into my own life, but I realize in the end it was for the best.

I wanna go on a gay cruise and poke a hole through the wall in my room so I can watch the action!

People seem to think I’m good at it - ask . I picked up the gay boi genes you missed! Your stores may not be best, but GM is HUGE, so we can find something :D Dinner? Anywhere I want?

  14. You might meet her some day. She lives in DFW now, too. Although her gf is underage, and so she prolly doesn’t go out much.

  15. She was always good at missing the obvious…
And thanks - so far, so good!

Do you know where they went?

  17. I could burn you some porn, if that’d satisfy you (=

Anywhere… well, within reason! (dunno about hitting up the Mansion or anything…)

  18. It’s things like that that keep Purell in business :D I know I contribute. Maybe I should invest and buy stock.

  19. Galveston, aye!

  20. Satisfy me? Eh, that’s too easy. I’ll just leave it alone.

We were just talking about good pr0n last night. I need to get a DVD player this weekend.

    Comment by jaxia — October 5, 2004 @ 6:48 am

  21. *giggle* Perhaps it would have been better stated, “satisfy you temporarily in the realm of watching 2+ men getting it on”

How does lesbian porn really fare? I find it interesting to conceptualize that a woman could get turned on in the same manner a guy could. I’m not saying, “omg, it doesn’t happen”. Just having it drilled into our heads all the time that women aren’t as sexually inclined as men, but yet seeing the exact opposite.. it’s an enigma.

  22. I don’t think I’m normal, but I need to make a post to discuss this that my little brother can’t see :p I’ll try to write up something when I’m not at work.

But, short answer - it sucks.

  23. Good to hear :)
I _think_ they did the Alaska thing. I know they left from the West Coast, but I really don’t remember many details I’m afraid. Wish I could tell you more. I had another friend who’s parents had much money, so he got to go on a couple cruises… I remember him saying they were pretty indolent affairs.

  24. ME talk to much. No. Never.

You like it when I talk to much. :p

    Joke! Yea Right!

Don’t know…but that is what I want to do. Yep an Olivia.

Sorry let the pussy out of the bag.

  26. Like I said, Cruises are rockin. Personally I dig them. Besides the whole being on this big moving hotel in the middle of the ocean I really love the dining room and everyone who works on them. The dining room is awesome because you have your assigned tables for dinner and then get seated randomly for other meals and you meet a ton of people. Everyone working on the ships (At least Carnival) is seriously from other countries so there are tons of *accents*! ha ha. I debated trying to be a photographer on one. Oh yeah, the photos everyone just randomly takes of everything is pretty cool, expensive, but cool. Everyone was super nice on the one we went on over the summer to Mexico and Catalina Island. Lots of party stuff and dancing by the pool, shopping when you’re in port, more free food than you can possibly stand, and fun little cabins with beds on the walls.

Another cool thing is when dolphins are swimming in the boat currents. It is so amazing.

Girl, you like the phone a lot I can see ha ha.

  27. Inside voices, please!

  28. I’m sold! You might try being a spokesperson for them :D I went deep sea fishing one time and saw tons of dolphins swimming. It was a really amazing thing. I used to go out and watch the boats come in when I lived in Corpus Christi and once in awhile, there would be a dolphin playing near the boats. Those are the moments I miss about being near the water.

That’s nothing! I went OVER my anytime minutes the month before - and I have unlimited mobile to mobile, and my unlimited nights and weekends start at 7p. I never realized how much I talk on the phone until I start paying attention to my phone bill.
