What I Recall of Yesterday’s Love

When my alarm went off this morning, I was sure today was going to be an awful day. I had already been up for 2 hours and didn’t sleep well, even before that. As I went to get in my car, I noticed a dent that hadn’t been there before. But as I put new tunes in my CD changer, the day started looking better as I reflected on my weekend.

Dinner ran late on Friday, so we didn’t finger paint – it’s been postponed. I met some really cool people and their 7-year-old little girl was adorable! She was a perfect entertainer :D On Saturday, we met them out at the park to visit and play for a little while. I spent most of my time running around with the little girl. Typically, I would have been much more reticent to let down my guard and channel my inner child. And yet I played on the swings, the monkey bars, the slide and even enjoyed a game of tag. Looking back on it, I cannot figure out if the little girl’s enthusiasm was contagious, if the setting sun shielded me and freed my inhibitions or maybe…maybe I just felt comfortable in my skin and in their company.

I was supposed to go out Saturday night but I went home and crashed. My phone started ringing on Sunday – everyone was asking where I was Saturday night since they thought I’d be out. Some of my favorite dance partners don’t go out all that often and they were all out. So, I’m kinda bummed that I missed them but I know I needed to stay home and get some rest.

Sunday was my day. I took care of some things that I’d needed to do. At Victoria’s Secret, I thought about you, . The cute little girl helping me put me in the largest dressing room - that thing was bigger than my college dorm! Did your girl grope you? We were trying to decide which fit worked best and she was feeling me up and even pinched me in the process! I’m probably 9 shades of red when I ask her “Do you ever feel weird about doing this?” She said “Not anymore. Now I enjoy it.” Gah!

I started a new crochet project and watched Remember The Titans. I laughed again about:

Me: You suck.
Her: Only on occasion, when asked nicely.
Me: Don’t tease the lesbian.

So that brings us back around to this morning. In an attempt to salvage the still-dawning day, I put in my new Nelly CD with “Over and Over” on it. , thanks so much (again) for the CD you sent me – I love the first song – Soulfully. I drove to work with my windows down, radio blaring. I stopped for coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts. As I was adding creamer to my coffee, I felt someone behind me. I turn, and it’s Ms. Mercedes. She says “I hope you didn’t lose my number – I’d love to talk over coffee one day.” I’ll never call her but the attention sure helped my sagging ego.

As I pulled into work, I thought about the rest of my week - I have plans every night, and I am truly looking forward to tonight.

And so, armed with Krispy Kreme donuts and French Vanilla coffee, I went off to start my day with a smile on my face.

  1. Wow, they don’t normally touch you like that at VS. And they certainly don’t tell you they enjoy it. She was totally macking on you!

  3. I LOVE it when a woman tells me that they thought about me while they were at Victoria’s Secret. :D YES!

Yep she sure did, but she realized in the middle of it that she was doing it to a lesbian. She kinda paused and then said “oh well I do this for a living.” I laughed and said oh go right ahead it is ok with me. Still can’t believe that she would not let JG in the waiting area. Pretty funny.

I am glad you had a good weekend. I always say go with the kids they can make you feel like there is not a worry in the world. Well if they are not yours. Always a nice break from your own stress and worries I say.

“Only on occasion, when asked nicely.” LMAO…I will never forget the face you made. :D

  4. She looked pretty straight to me, but who am I to judge?

I’m just trying to decide if the process turned me on or freaked me out.

(Or maybe a little of both…)

  6. You totally took that the wrong way (and on purpose, I’m sure :p)

The face I made! You got a whole movie outta that one comment!

  7. Haha, well I can understand being freaked out because you wouldn’t expect something like that to happen.

And you should know that looking straight doesn’t mean shit. ;)

  8. I don’t go around pinching people and whatnot unless there’s a romantic connection or at least a strong possibility thereof. I meant I was jealous of bein’ hit on by a complete stranger. :p These things never happen to me! Waaah!

  9. I meant I’d share the women hitting on me ;) I still don’t think she was hitting on me. I think she was just a flirt. I mean, it’s not like I found her phone number slipped in among my purchases when I got home…

  10. Actually, I usually have a fairly decent radar, even for the girly girls. Bi women throw me off once in a while though.

You are right - I didn’t expect that to happen at all. Heh. It would be kinda like the guy helping you try on shoes saying he has a foot fetish!

  11. Me do that…..No! ;)
    LOL… yea I sure did.
