A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy

Wonderland

Back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Last night I went with Sex Kitten (SK) to her sister’s house for dinner. I was pretty nervous. Her nieces are 16 mos (R) and 2 1/2 (C) and little girls are just…different. Newborns are easy, regardless of gender. I can handle boys of any age because they are easily fascinated - cars, rough and tumble wrestling, dinosaurs and if all else fails, strange noises that mimic bodily functions are always a sure bet. Little girls on the other hand…If they are not tomboys, I’m at a loss.

Despite my nerves, things went well. We played chase, catch, sang songs and played in the bubble bath. SK went to put R to bed, and so I even finished reading the bedtime story to C! At one point earlier in the evening while I was chasing C around the house, her mom told her “Go give Amy a hug.” I have the sweetest imagine in my mind of turning the corner and there was C, with her arms held open, ready to give me the best hug.

The innocent laughter of a child is the greatest sound on Earth.

In other news, I am going to Houston tonight for Thanksgiving. I’ve decided to drive instead of fly so that I will have my car and can go visit friends. A bunch of my HS classmates are going to be in town, and we are trying to plan a meet-up. Some I haven’t seen in years and haven’t personally come out to yet, so it should be interesting.

New Year’s reservations have been made! So many wonderful people in my life are all partying together - We are going to start the year off right!

We also planned a trip to New Orleans in January. Today is filled with good news!

Oh! Oh! Holly, how far is the trip to NO for you? You should come play with us!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
