I lost my driver’s license. In order to get a new one, I have to have my birth certificate (or a passport). I don’t have a copy of my birth certificate. In order to get my birth certificate, I have to have a copy of my driver’s license.

I’m experiencing the same kind of connundrum. I need ot get a passport before I apply for a TX license, because I have this huge problem with surrendering my only form of Photo ID when I do a lot of travelling and Hotel reserving.

TX Licensing system blows ass.

Right now I have a NJ DL.

Apparently it is law in TX that you cannot have an out of state DL while in the process of getting your TX DL.

But folks… DPS takes four fucking WEEKS to get you your DL. All the while your “identification” is a piece of paper that says you can drive.

So yeah, I’ll be getting a Passport before I get the TX DL. In the meantime, I shall hope to avoid folks who might not appreciate that I haven’t changed residency yet.
