A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
For my American Literature II class, I have an exam due tonight with 5 essays on it. My teacher put word count requirements on ALL of our essays. I thought I was done, but as I was reading over the test specifics just to make sure I didn’t miss anything, I realized I didn’t remember the correct word count requirements; I was 50 characters short on ALL of my essays.
Gah! That’s some crap! For some of these things, I was pulling stuff out of thin air just to eek out the answers I have already written!
Shouldn’t a *good* English professor encourage me to be concise?

A *good* english professor shouldn’t have to put word counts on a test.
If it’s a ridiculous requirement (As in, say writing 500 words paraphrasing 2 sentences, and yes I’ve gotten that) then complain. Rattle the bars, tip the boat, squeaky wheel and all that.
The great thing about going back to college is that you’re not a little kid anymore. Now we old folks know how buisness works, so we can do stuff like demand our money back for professors who are just on power trips.
