Sad Day in Texas

by @ 2:25 pm on November 9, 2005. Filed under Lesbian | News | Texas

For the first time in my life, I am not proud to be a Texan. And lemme tell ya, claiming Bush wasn’t easy.

Separation of church and state, people. Embrace it.

  1. It’s amazing what kind of power the Catholic church has in the USA. They also tried pushing other intiatives like the mandatory notification to parents of teen girls wanting to get abortions in CA…

I thought my state was more liberal than that, but the inner hick counties made it a close race.

  2. I’m sorry. It bugs me more and more when I see overlaps (read: abuses) of government authority and power.

I guess I had better start my ascent into power so I can set right what has gone wrong.

ps - I had to look up what made you sad since I am a long ways away and the biggest thing we voted on was repealing a gas tax or banning smoking. Boy howdy am I glad that there is no crime, hunger, theft, rape, child abuse, war, famine, illiteracy anymore. Now that all that stuff is gone the government can really focus in on the important stuff……wait….what?!!?…. you mean all that stuff still exists?!?!?!?

    Now I am PISSED

  3. Nick - Yeah, it is sad when the church tries to get stuff like that passed.

Brian - Tell me about it! This year in Texas, they were more worried about gay people getting married and sexy teenagers than any of those other things. Crime, education and child abuse aren’t important; No, let’s make sure those homosexuals don’t have any legal rights and cheerleaders are covered from wrist to ankle.

  4. IMHO, church is BS from A to Z.
    Just my 2 cents.
