A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
Yesterday I discovered that my anatomy teacher knows my name. This is either a really good thing, or a really bad thing. At least she manages to keep my attention in class. To illustrate the properties of chemical bonds, she said they were like marriages. The type of bond dictated who got what in the divorce. Hydrogen bonds are not only polyamorous, but tend to keep a mistress on the side. Whatever works, right?
Last night after class, we headed down to Fort Worth to check out The Ultimate Lesbian Short Film Festival. I’d never been to one of these types of things, but I had a good time. I even managed to win a door prize! Granted, it was a movie that I’d never heard of and has subtitles, but since I’m on a losing streak lately, I’m not complaining. We had dinner at Uno’s beforehand and decided to go back for dessert after the show. We met some new people and had some laughs. Good times!
I bought a pretty new purple, err, excuse me - lilac, stethoscope for my health skills class. We are supposed to learn how to take vital signs tonight. I’m going to practice on SK
Ask me tomorrow about how many times the instructor told me to “axe the patient.” I have to do something to keep myself entertained.

Backatcha for the film festival — Nice to meet y’all last night. Too bad some of the films were not so bueno. Door prizes are always a bonus.
We’ll be at Sue’s this weekend around 10pm — drop by if you feel like going out.

I will never look at black plums the same way again.
Thanks for the invite. SK and I have a really busy weekend, but I will let Jac know! Hopefully we can get together for game night sometime soon.

I totally remember the first time I realized a professor knew my name. I had the same mixed feelings. Did he know my name because I am a good student or does he remember my name because I am a pain in his neck?
Maybe you can make a unique hand gesture and every time you hear “axe the patient”/ After a few weeks you can make the gesture and see if the professor reflexively says “axe the patient”. You never know, it might work
I tried throwing a Lesbian Film Festival once in college, but the video store would only let me rent 3 movies from “behind the counter” at a time

When I was a college student, all of my professors knew my name after the first week. I rarely asked questions or interacted with them, but it happened without fail.
Goe, actually can learn through osmosis.
