We were supposed to go to Atlanta this weekend, but with the impending arrival of our new nephew, we decided to postpone our trip. The weekend was still awesome, including trips to the Fort Worth Science & History Museum, the Cowgirl Museum and watching an IMAX show about Mars.
On the school front, things are going okay. Last week was so stressful with tons of assignments to turn in and several exams that I totally dropped the ball in my psychology class. I completely forgot that I had a homework assignment due, and the teacher refuses to accept a late assignment for any reason. So, I earned a big fat zero and brought my grade down to an 85. With near perfection the rest of the semester, it’s possible to pull it back into the A range.
I made an honest (no curve) 89 on my anatomy and physiology test, and I can’t complain too much. The test wasn’t all that hard, but I tend to over think the questions. One question asked, “What is a feature of this organelle?” and listed “contains some of its own DNA” as one of the answers. Since I thought it contained ALL of its own DNA, I picked a different answer. My answer was wrong. According to the textbook, it “contains its own DNA.” Oh well. I have a lecture exam next week, and the scary midterm the week after that. The midterm will tell me a lot about my chances of making an A this semester.
I also decided to switch goals from the radiologic technology program to the nursing program. Of my 20 hours, 7 of them won’t work for the nursing program, so I’m going to drop those classes. I can handle 13 hours, and I can already feel a lot of stress melting away.
