A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
When I finally get through school, I want to start working as a travel nurse. SK is excited about it too, and so we decided to do a little “daydreaming with props” this weekend.
Saturday was drizzling rain, but that didn’t stop the masses from heading out to the Dallas RV show. Even though it will be 5 years before we are ready to hit the road, it was nice to get an idea of where we would need to be in 5 years. It’s amazing how fancy RVs are these days!
On Sunday, the rain finally cleared up and it was a gorgeous day. SK was ready to get out of the house, so we took a road trip up to Turner Falls, OK. As we were driving, we noticed signs for a wilderness park and decided to take the tour.
- We were stalked by an aggressive ostrich
- I wanted to sun myself like the lion.
- Antelopes come in all shapes and sizes.
- Giraffes are amazingly pretty and really do have LONG tongues.

That’s my 10 minutes for the day. I have an A&P test on Wednesday that I need to study for now.

Daydreaming with props? Is that a euphamism? Was there a nurse costume involved?

There wasn’t a nurse costume, but SK has a strange shopping bag today…Did you give her ideas? Trust me, she didn’t need the help!

You’ll need at least a year and probably two years of regular hospital nursing before you travel. Traveling is difficult, and not only do you have to know what you’re doing, you’ve got to be well versed enough at it to do it in a completely new atmospere every 13 weeks or so.
I’m putting a link up to you in the pre-reqs section of Mediblogopathy. Feel free to pick up a NurseBlogs logo badge if you’d like. Good luck with school.

Brian - Both outfits are pretty sexy
HK - I knew I’d need at least a year of hospital nursing, which is why it’s a 5 year plan
It allows for almost 2 years of experience. I know it won’t be easy, but it is a good fit for my personality. You’ve done a great job at building up a community and I appreciate it. Thanks for stopping by, and the link. I linked you up, as well!
