You will have to write issue papers, pre debate papers, post debate papers, research about the research that goes into something. I just finished my first year and I had to write 8 research papers for various subjects. That isn't including the dreaded "reflective analysis" where you take an experience from clinical and analyze it to death and in which you have to find scholarly research that speaks to your situation.
