A Sneak Peak Into My Crazy Life as I Try to Get Through Nursing School,
and the Technology, Books, Movies, Music & Lyrics I Enjoy
If you are not running an anti-virus program on your home computer, you must be crazy! For the budget-aware who still want protection, check out Avast. They offer free anti-virus protection for home, non-commercial users. After 60 days, they require registration, but it is fairly painless (and free!). I’m using it on my PC, and it seems to be doing a good job so far.
(They even have a Linux edition!)

I’m using Avast! on three desktops and one laptop and have been using it for nearly a year with no ill effects. I’m also considering moving to Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite or Panda Internet Suite. No Norton, no McAffee.

JSS - I’m sure that’s annoying. I hate it when people aren’t willing to support their products.
Frances - Thanks for stopping by! Let me know how you like them.
Peter - I used Nod32 for awhile, but I was never really impressed with the software. I had trouble connecting to their update server too many times.
