while i appreciate the tenacity with which you adressed this issue, i LOVE panic! at the disco, and i write sins not tragedies. it is my choice to listen to it, and while the radio bleeps out god but not damn, every teen that listens to panic! knows what they say, and are all fine with it. it is the radio station's judgement to bleep out god because some might find it offensive, but generally speaking (where i live, at least) if you listen to the type of station that plays panic! you'd be best off if you weren't offended by vulgar language. but this song is amazing, and it's not a bad song just because it says god damn. i hear worse things in the hallways every day at school.

I think it's because technically, "damn" isn't a swear, but "god damn" is considered a blasphemy, since it's telling god to damn the person/place/thing/table leg. So they bleep "god" and it's suddenly acceptable swearing.

Even better, two radio stations owned by the same company played Pink's "Just Like a Pill" one right after the other way back when, and I was amused when the first one bleeped "bitch" and the second one didn't.

I have noticed the same thing. and it seems to vary from station to station.

Also fun to see what stations will bleep "whore"

I think Best Week Ever on VH1 actually bleeped "ho" but left "whore" alone last week.
